The Ultimate Mother’s Day Brunch Guide

When Mother’s Day rolls around, it’s important to have a game plan on hand. You don’t want to be left spinning in circles trying to take care of details that should’ve been addressed days if not weeks in advance.

Above all else, don’t settle for boring tabletop decor. You can have an amazing menu, but if you don’t consider the ambience, the presentation of it is bound to fall short. Creating a tabletop theme is simple. It’s pulling it all together that can require a more trained eye.

Tabletop Decor

The first step to planning this brunch is deciding on a definitive aesthetic. Do you want a fuss-free, relaxed feel or are you leaning towards a more formal look? Coming up with the right answers always follows asking the right questions. Sit down and start writing. Here’s some sample questions to get you started:

  • What do you want your color scheme to be? Starting out, think of two or three colors you’d like to focus on. Then pick two complimentary shades that will work to pull it all together.
  • What’s your inspiration or theme based around? Having one central idea to reference helps move along the process.
  • What’s your budget? You may need to reign it in or get creative depending on what you’re working with.
On the Menu

As much as we encourage you to focus on table decor, at the end of the day, the food will be a defining factor in the success of the brunch. If you’re having trouble thinking of options to include on your menu, go back to your theme or source of inspiration. If your decor is earthy and casual, make sure the food is consistent with that. Here’s some practically no-fail suggestions:

What to Drink

It’s brunch, so that requires the consumption of some form of a fancy drink. Don’t limit your options to traditionally had cocktails, though. Include berry and herb infused water on the menu. It’ll be an instant refresher that’s pretty to look at.
